Fire at Positive Chimney and Fireplace destroys showroom

CADILLAC - An early Saturday morning fire tore apart the showroom and one office room of Positive Chimney and Fireplace, 6717 W. M-115, in Cadillac.

Cadillac City firefighters responded to a call around 2:45 a.m. after a person driving by saw smoke.

The firefighters, including others from Cherry Grove, Haring and Clam Lake townships, fought the fire for two hours, extinguishing the majority of the flames and smoke around 4:45 a.m.

Cadillac firefighter Bob Keith said it could not be determined yet what caused the fire or to what extent the damage was. The warehouse behind the showroom, however, did not catch on fire. Keith said the firefighters would probably be cleaning up the site for another two hours.
