Web site, road work planned for township

CADILLAC - The Clam Lake Township board is on the way to establishing a Web site and paving more roads.

Supervisor Dennis Anderson said the board Wednesday approved in concept a plan to join with the township's DDA in establishing a township Web site to provide information about township government, meetings and activities.

"We can do a lot of different things with it," Anderson said. "It will be a good way to highlight our DDA area."

Anderson said the cost for establishing the site would be about $600 with a $250 annual renewal.

The board also approved two road projects for 2005 subject to Wexford County Road Commission bonding for the project.

Anderson said the plans call for paving 43 Road that lines up with Bus. 131 as a connector to M-115. He said the mile-long stretch is a gravel road.

The second project would be repaving 41 Road south of M-115 and 46 1/2 Road.

Anderson said the cost to the township for the projects would be about $218,000.

with the road commission funding the remainder of the cost.

The board also voted to pay $1,500 for the Lakes Area Partnership, which includes Wexford County, the city of Cadillac, and Haring, Selma, Cherry Grove and Clam Lake townships. The group is working together to solve shared concerns.
