Two students expelled for creating 'hit list'

REED CITY - The Reed City School Board moved to expel two high school students for "threats of violence to students or personnel" at Monday night's meeting.

The disciplinary action stems from the Nov. 2 discovery of a written "hit list" the students created.

The students are expelled for the remainder of the school year. They may reapply Aug. 1 if shown to have made academic progress, have attended counseling and have been free from trouble with the law.

A third student involved in the incident will be dealt with according to a process dictated by the individual characteristics of his education.
