Mother Nature wins Cadillac News Mother Nature’s winter mess didn’t screw up too much in high school sports Thursday. Being moved are a hockey game, two volleyball matches and a basketball game. At this point, those events have all been rescheduled. The Cadillac hockey team was to meet Muskegon Catholic Central in a MHSAA Division 3 pre-regional contest at the Wexford Civic Arena but that game was cancelled early Thursday because of the storm. It has been moved to 6:30 p.m. tonight. The winner advances to the regional final in Gaylord against the winner of the Sault Ste. Marie-Cheboygan pre-regional contest that was also scheduled for Thursday. Another MHSAA tournament postponed because of the snow, ice, sleet and wind was Thursday’s scheduled pre-district matches in the Class C volleyball tournament at Clare. Lake City was to have taken on the host Pioneers while McBain was to meet Pine River following the first match. All that has been moved to Saturday morning. The Trojans and Clare will begin play at 8 a.m. with the Ramblers and Bucks to follow. After that, the schedule will go on pretty much as slated. The Mesick and Manton boys’ basketball teams were slated to wrap up their regular-season schedules against each other Thursday but that game was postponed, as well. It will instead be played Saturday evening with the junior varsity game beginning at 6 p.m.
