CD release concert to benefit Love INC CADILLAC — The Love, Inc. benefit concert featuring rising Christian Contemporary music star Sarah Dodge Schieber is the marriage of two dreams. When Love INC Director Diane Wood found out that Schieber had finished recording a solo CD, she wondered if the artist would do a benefit concert — but in Cadillac? Wood had followed Schieber’s career with the recording group Soujourn and was anxious to hear her solo CD. When Wood reached the artist by phone, it all came together. “It was funny because when I called her,” Wood explained, “I didn’t know she was originally from Cadillac. This was really kind of scary because she said — I’ve been thinking it might be nice to do some sort of concert in Cadillac.” Schieber told Wood that she had been “thinking and praying about how to release the CD.” On Friday at 7 p.m. Sarah Dodge Schieber will release her new CD with a benefit performance for Love, INC. She will perform songs from her CD titled “Gratitude,” recorded in the Gaither Studio by a Dove award-winning producer. Schieber’s performance will combine soulful jazz with gospel praise and worship as she sings old favorites and selections from the CD. She is a singer/songwriter who has dedicated her voice, her life and her singing to the Lord. She studied classical voice at Anderson University and received opera training, as well as a degree in music business. Born in Cadillac and later raised in Traverse City, Schieber toured with Sojourn for eight years. She has also directed church choirs in Midland and teaches voice lessons. She lives in Midland with her husband Chad, a police officer. All proceeds from the concert will go to Love, INC, an alliance of 58 area churches whose goal is to help those in need. Last year, according to Wood, Love INC made 3,000 referrals to meet the needs arising from members of our communities.
