Buckley woman dies after being hit by truck in Clare

CLARE — A 31-year-old Buckley woman died early Monday after she was struck by a pickup truck on U.S. 127 near U.S. 10 in Clare County.

Corey Christine Harris was struck by a 1994 Nissan truck at 3:56 a.m., according to the Clare County Sheriff’s Department.

According to police, Harris had been walking north on the highway in a lane attempting to get help after the vehicle she was traveling in got a flat tire.

According to witnesses, Harris had been drinking alcohol prior to the crash. The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old Harrison woman, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Clare County Sheriff’s Department.
