MESICK — A 37-year-old Copemish man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Mesick.
According to a Wexford County Sheriff’s Office press release, deputies were dispatched to West 16 road near Industrial Drive in Mesick around 11 p.m. on Saturday.
A 27-year-old Mesick resident was driving a vehicle eastbound on West 16 Road and struck the Copemish man who was walking in the roadway.
The victim was transported to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City for treatment of serious injuries.
His status is unknown at this time.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and it is not believed that alcohol was a factor in the incident, which is still under investigation.
The Wexford County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by MSP Cadillac post troopers, North Flight EMS, Springfield Township Fire Department, Buckley Rescue and Blair Township EMS.
