CADILLAC — Jack and Jane (Tiernan) Meyer of Cadillac celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently. They were married June 14, 1969 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Gathering in Cadillac July 4 and the week after and planning the whole celebration were their four children: Tamara (and Todd) Walters of Kalamazoo, John and fiancee, Erin Burns from Exeter, New Hampshire, Pete and Ali Meyer of Cadillac and Mary Jane (and Jim) Schremser of Clarendon Hills, Illinois. Also, 12 of their 13 grandchildren were here to celebrate: Grayson and Katie Jane Walters, Ashleigh, Karly, Johnny and Katie Meyer, Livi, Avery and Erin Meyer and Luke, Charlie and Ben Schremser.
A lot of activities were planned and enjoyed starting with the Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Pat Cawley, a dear family friend of Vanderbilt, Michigan, on their lawn by Lake Cadillac. All the children and grandchildren participated in the Liturgy. Following was a lovely reception and dinner on the lawn for the family.
All the fun continued the next few days with a “Cousin Olympics,‘ mystery bus ride and trip to Bowers Harbor Vineyard and dinner at the Boat House for the adults, an “all family‘ Golf Tournament at Caberfae Peaks and much boating and many water sports.
Jack and Jane are filled with gratitude for their many blessings throughout the years and they are so very grateful to their family for planning this wonderful week of celebration.
