CADILLAC — They printed out 200 flyers for the Cadillac Senior Center Open House on Thursday.

At the end of the day, they were completely out of flyers.

Senior Center Director Diane Patterson said they hosted the event — which featured free hamburgers and hotdogs, a scavenger hunt, and guided tours — to bring awareness to everything they offer at the center.

Patterson said they met a lot of new seniors on Thursday and she's pretty sure many will be returning for one or more of the activities regularly offered at the Senior Center.

During guided tours of the center, visitors checked out some of the Senior Center clubs, including card-making, yarn spinning, gardening, and square dance.

One of the most popular events of the day was "Drums Alive," which featured yoga balls in a tub that participants hit with drumsticks to make music.

Patterson said they are the process of making this a regular class at the center.

A number of local businesses and organizations sponsored the event, including FIAMM Technologies, Hudson Wealth Management, the Lake Cadillac Resort, 9 and 10 News, Piranha Hose Products, Riemer Eye Center, WexExpress, Wayne and Anne Fox, and the Cadillac News.
