CLARE — Troopers from the Mount Pleasant Michigan State Police Post responded to a fatal three-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

At 10:05 a.m. Thursday troopers were dispatched to Ludington Drive near Washington Street within Grant Township in Clare County. The preliminary investigation determined an eastbound vehicle swerved to avoid a second vehicle turning south into a private drive, according to police.

The eastbound bound vehicle than struck a vehicle traveling westbound and overturned ejecting the driver. The 75-year-old Farwell man died as a result of the crash and there were no other injuries.

The crash is still under investigation at this time and troopers were assisted on the scene by the City of Clare Police Department, City of Clare Fire Department and the Clare County Sherriff’s Office.
