CADILLAC — A special needs child ran away from his home Tuesday morning, prompting preparations for a search that ended when he returned a couple hours later.
According to a Wexford County Sheriff's Office press release, at 9:32 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the home in Haring Township on reports of a 14-year-old male running into the woods.
The Wexford County Sheriff's Office ORV Division was preparing to begin a search, along with a K-9 unit from the Michigan State Police Cadillac post, when the juvenile walked out of the woods and returned home.
The child was uninjured and healthy. He was turned over to his parents.
