ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — David Henry Burton, of Cadillac, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Florida Hospital in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was 87.
David was born on Valentines Day, February 14, 1930, in Cadillac, Michigan, to Calvin and Ester (Burquist) Burton. He entered into marriage with the former Jennie Mae Koning on November 9, 1991, in Falmouth, Michigan. David spent his career working as a route salesperson for Coca-Cola for 37 years. He enjoyed playing billiards, horseshoes and cribbage with his friends and family. David liked to spend his time outdoors fishing. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.
David is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jennie Burton of Cadillac; six stepchildren, Charles Dale (Janis) Hoffman, CarolAnn (Ed) Chapman, Greg (Becky) Hoffman, Mary K. (Hersel) Wing, Joanne (Michael) Nelson and Joyce (James) Meyer; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Earline) Burton; one sister, Grace (Don) Barnes; and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Connie Geraldine Burton; one great-great-grandchild, Brianna Collins; and his in-laws, Jim and Hattie Boven.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Cadillac Christian-Reformed Church. Interment took place at Maple Hill Cemetery.
