HERSEY — Emily Jo Richmond of Hersey passed away February 8, 2019 at Assisted Lifestyles in Evart. She was 94.
Emily was born February 3, 1925 in Pennville, Indiana, to Chauncey and Delphia (Paxson) Yarger. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1943. Emily had lived in several places, Pennville (Jay Co.), Indiana, Oil City, Michigan, Mount Pleasant Michigan, Reed City, Michigan, and Hersey, Michigan. She was married to Howard (Lefty) W. Richmond on June 20, 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1992; she also was married to Edward (Ned) Seath on April 1, 1986 and he preceded her in death in 2008. Emily worked as a factory worker at Kel-Reed, then Gardner Denver in Reed City and at Wolverine Worldwide, and worked as a bartender at the Moose Lodge in Reed City, U & I, and Henry’s bars. She was a member of the Reed City Moose Lodge, VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Emily was a former bowler and loved camping.
Emily is survived by her three children, Thomas (Jackie) Richmond of Frankfort, Michigan, Dee (Robert) Wanstead of Leesburg, Florida, Jay (Thelma) Richmond of Reed City; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and her son, Kenneth Richmond.
A Memorial Luncheon honoring the life of Emily Jo Richmond will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Reed City Moose Lodge.
